LG’s OLED TV Sales Up 220% YoY in January 2018

LG said that its Korean sales of high-end OLED TVs surpassed 14,000 units last month—that’s one sold every three minutes—according to Yonhap. In contrast, the company sold 5,000 OLED TVs in January 2017, which means an impressive year-on-year growth of 220%.

Prices of OLED TVs have dropped every year since the technology was launched; a 55″ LG OLED TV cost 15 million won ($13,500) back in 2013. Now, they are available for between 2.39 million won ($2,200) and 3.09 million won ($2,840).
