LG Electronics, Corning Collaborate on Automotive Curved Glass

What They Say

The Korea Economic Daily (KED) said that LG Electronics and Corning are to collaborate to supply curved displays to European automotive makers. LG will use Corning’s ColdForm technology which is said to have a 25% lower carbon footprint than conventional thermoformed curved glass production processes and a reduction of 14.5 million kg of carbon dioxide emissions per million square feet of glass.

What We Think

The press article that I saw suggested that there had been a press release on this topic, but perhaps it was just released in Korean as I couldn’t find it! We previously reported that Innolux had done a deal with the US glass maker for the material. (Innolux Aggressive on Auto Displays – Inks Deal with Corning) (BR)
