In an effort to continue competing with Chinese LCD TV makers, LG is again pushing down its OLED TV prices. The company has committed to almost half prices in the USA before the end of the year, according to Reuters.
Production improvements mean that LG has been able to lower the price of six OLED TV models by up to 45%, compared to October, without unduly affecting margins. Two of the sets are now below $2,000 (LDM Product Roundup – Vol 22 No 43).
Vice president Lee Jeong-seok said in a recent interview, “This is the first time we’ll be within the range of what people would consider an affordable price”.
Sales have already been growing since the cuts began on the 8th October, said LG.
