Touch Comes to Medical With Tru-Vu

Tru-Vu has developed a 21.5″ medical monitor with a procap touchscreen. The MMZBTP-21.5 conforms to the UL 60601-1 3rd edition medical safety standard, and is designed for use on in operating rooms, on medical carts and in OEM medical systems. However, the company does not mention Dicom compliance and refers to the monitor as “surgical-grade”.

Two touch points are supported. Tru-Vu says that the screen is not affected by dirt, grease or moisture on the surface. The glass is edge-to-edge, with no raised bezel to trap dirt or dust.

The unit has 1920 x 1080 resolution. It will display 8-bit colour and has 300 cd/m² of brightness. Contrast ratio is 5,000:1, viewing angles are 178° and response time is 16ms.

Two models are available, with different inputs. The MMZBTP-21.5R features DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA; the MMZBTP-21.5C has DVI-D and VGA interfaces.

Price is on application.
