According to IHS Markit, quoted in the Yonhap News, LG Display is the top supplier of large panels for the 28th consecutive quarter, and is forecast to ship over 51 million next year. This would keep it in top spot, although second placed Innolux, which should supply 46.6 million units, may use Sharp’s fabs in Japan to make smaller TV panels, bringing the total to 53 million and overtaking LG. The global figure for this year is expected to be down 5% to 261.6 million units, with next year seeing a further 1.2% fall to 258.4 million.
