What They Say
Noctiluca posted a press release (in Polish) highlighting that it has signed a deal with LG Display to collaborate on the development of OLED emitter materials ‘with the intention of using the company’s emitters by the partner in its own products’ (according to Google translate!). Initially, LG Display will perform testing and evaluation of the materials which are based on ADF (Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence) and hyperfluorescence.
The firm said that it signed a deal last year with a Japanese chemical concern that is part of a group that is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of cars and buses as well as components for consumer electronics. It has also, in December 2021, submitted an information document related to listing on NewConect to the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The firm sees itself as a competitor to Cynora of Germany and Kyulux of Japan.
What We Think
Seeing this story has highlighted to me that we haven’t covered Noctiluca much so far. The deal with LG is a good one for Noctiluca, although the Korean company is (or at least was) an investor in Kyulux as well. Getting the best possible emitters is a big deal for OLED makers. (BR)
