LG has introduced two new notebooks for the Korean market, which will also be launched in South America in Q2.
The new products feature lightweight designs and narrow (4.4mm) bezels. The 14″ 14Z950 and 13.3″ 13Z940 weigh 980g, making the larger model the lightest 14″ laptop on the market, says LG. They are less than 14mm thick, with IPS panels (most notebooks use TN, so we applaud this move – TA) and Broadwell processors.
The 14Z950 boasts 10.5 hours of battery life, while the 13Z940’s is reduced to 8.5 hours.
Both laptops feature 1920 x 1080 resolution, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB/256GB SSD. They also have a ‘Reader Mode’, simulating the appearance of paper on-screen to minimise eye fatigue. Intel HD 4400 graphics are integrated. The notebooks use an edge-LED backlight and have 178 degree viewing angles. They can connect to other devices through Bluetooth 4.0, WiDi, WiFi, HDMI, USB 3.0 and micro-USB 2.0.
