LetsGoDigital reports that LG has applied for a patent for an ‘extendable’ OLED TV. When not in use, the TV drops back into the case, with just a small part of the display visible through the housing for use as an information display. The display can also be part extended for use as a small screen.
What We Think
This concept was shown during CES by LG Display, with an example TV at the foot of the bed. It could rise with an alarm call to show information such as the time, weather and calendar entries. It’s a neat alternative to ‘the black hole on the wall’ or a rollable (and both fragile and expensive) set. (BR)
