LG…And OLED-A is Optimistic About Flexible Production

The OLED Association (OLED-A) has predicted a 700% rise in flexible OLED capacity between 2014 and 2018. The Association predicts that the combined capacity of Samsung Display and LG Display will rise from 800,000m² next year to 5.6 million m² in 2017.

SDC’s capacity will remain larger than LGD’s throughout the forecast period, OLED-A believes. However, we recently saw LGD’s flexible OLED roadmap (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 45), where the company showed that it plans to produce rollable TVs by 2017. It is possible that the Association is not taking this into account, or simply does not believe that LG will achieve it, says OLED-Info.
