What They Say
Leyard has produced a white paper highlighting the trend from the use of rear projection cubes towards the use of small pitch pitch LEDs. It highlights the advantages of LEDs and covers concerns such as blue light.
The paper included the following market data on the value of the market split by technology.
What We Think
This seemed a not unreasonable summary of many of the issues and there is mention, for example, the use of common cathode technology to improve the efficiency of LED, as power consumption has been a concern for potential buyers.
The chart of market value was also interesting, but was not shown by geography. I haven’t researched this area directly, but my understanding is that most of the control rooms using LED are in China and that this application has been one of the drivers for Chinese interest in LED displays. (BR)
