In the second quarter of 2018, Lextar began trial production of ultra-thin mini LED backlight technology for notebooks and LCD gaming monitors, plus automotive, commercial and medical displays, at a new factory in Chuzhou, China, according to sources in Taiwan.
Production capacity is being phased in gradually and the company plans for the facility to be fully operational by the end of 2018. The sources also said that Lextar clients are currently validating a range of fine pixel-pitch mini LED public information displays.
