What They Say

Dave Haynes of Sixteen-Nine.net is running a survey on whether it makes sense to revive the Digital Signage Expo as a separate event after the pandemic, or whether to simply fold it in to the main Infocomm.

He explains his point of view at the article link, or you can go here to take the survey..

What We Think

Although I cared a lot about digital signage, especially when we were doing primary market research on the large display business, I never found it necessary to attend the DSE as it used to be between ISE and Infocomm in the calender. Timing is a big issue and something around October or November might just have meant that some companies might have made some announcements there, rather than waiting for ISE. Many years ago, I used to attend the SMAU show in Milan. Being able to combine a visit with a weekend in the lakes always made it more attractive, but I often got scoops there of products that were intended for global launch at CES in January, but that had not been ready for IFA in early September.
