What They Say
The Verge reports that Lenovo is now taking orders for the ThinkPad X1 Fold. It has a 13″ foldable display. It comes with Intel’s Lakefield processors, two USB-C ports and a SIM-card slot, 8GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a 50Wh battery. It weighs 2.2 pounds and can come with 5G support. It is priced from $2,499. Lenovo also announced the ThinkPad X1 Nano, which is the lightest ThinkPad ever made at 1.99 pounds.
What We Think
I’m quite positive about the potential for folding PCs in the longer term, but the price premium and likely issues with reliability will mean that it will take quite a long time to get into the mainstream. (BR)
