Lenovo SmartHub is First Step in Collaboration

We were impressed with the Lenovo SmartHub 500 when we saw it at CES. the product is designed for use in huddle spaces and Lenovo was at ISE to promote its PC range, but also the SmartHub which is designed for and certified for Skype for Business. Staff told us that the 500 is the first in a planned range of devices for collaboration and for ‘collaboration spaces’.

The device is built around an Intel Cori57500T chip with 8GB of memory and a 128GB SSD. There is an 11.6″ FullHD touchscreen that is fully rotatable and has 300 cd/m² of output. The display has special treatments for anti-glare and smudge resistance.

A small point, but a neat one, is that the connectors are covered with a lid that allows through cables, but helps to prevent accidental disconnection. There is an HDMI and dual HDMI out ports as well as ethernet and four USB connectors. There is a proximity sensor and there are dual 4W speakers (Dolby audio tuned) and dual microphones.
