Lenovo Group has released its fourth quarter and full year results, posting a net profit in Q4 of $100 million on turnover of $11.3 billion, which compares with a net profit of $158 million on turnover of $9.3 billion in the final quarter of last year. For the year, Lenovo recorded a net profit of $829 million on turnover of $46.3 billion, while in the previous year the company’s net profit was $817 million on turnover of $38.7 billion.

Lenovo’s PC group achieved turnover in Q4 of $7.2 billion, with PC shipments of 13.3 million increasing 2.7% year on year, for a total market share of 19.5%. The PC group saw share gain across all geographic regions, with particularly strong performances in Western Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The company’s mobile business, which includes products from the Motorola investment, Lenovo’s branded mobile phone business, Android tablets and smart TVs, delivered quarterly sales of $2.8 billion. For the year, China accounted for 59% of Lenovo’s smartphone shipments, while markets outside China achieved 450% growth to reach 31 million smartphones. Lenovo’s tablet shipments were 26% higher year on year at 12 million units.
