Lenovo has completed the integration of IBM’s X86 server business in the UK and Ireland.
Although the original deal between IBM and Lenovo was closed last October, the companies said at the time that employees and business operations in the EMEA region would be migrated from IBM to Lenovo over a period of a several months to ensure a smooth transition. This was reportedly because of the large number of countries and processes that IBM had in place across the EMEA region.

This is a good deal for Lenovo, and we would expect the acquisition to have a significant effect on HP. Lenovo has good client businesses and with the Motorola and its own smartphone businesses, it has got into a very strong position. HP will have to fight hard to retain its position if Lenovo continues its continued quarter on quarter expansion over the last five years. (BR)
