Leicester City FC Unveils Display Tech at New Retail Store

Leicester City, a UK football club, recently unveiled its new club shop to fans at its King Power Stadium, featuring a range of technological retail solutions.

Retail display agency, Kesslers, commissioned AV and IT integration specialist Pioneer Group to design the technology specification, and supply, install and commission the digital displays. The project was completed from concept to installation in just five weeks.

Pioneer LED displays are installed on the sales floor, in the shape of a 5.1m × 2.9m 4mm pixel-pitch curved video wall. Others include a 3.5m × 2.9m 2.6mm pixel-pitch LED display located in the kit area of the store and four 1m × 2m LED displays embedded between shop fittings. The company also engineered four-sided LED displays to be fitted around column infrastructures, encased in metal cages. All of the LED displays are driven via a Colourlight control system.

Behind the checkout, 12 Samsung UD46E displays formulate a 2 × 6 video wall, with content distributed via a Datapath FX4/H display wall controller. The club’s online presence is brought into the store via a 65” 65BL3051T touchscreen display from Phillips.

21.5” Acer displays are located on 14 gondola fittings, mounted back-to-back. The 28 displays deliver full HD resolution, dedicated to in-store and product-related promotions.
