LeEco, the global technology and internet company, announces a Chinese-market initiative to provide easy access to Chinese-language content seamlessly through LeEco’s innovative ecosystem of products in the U.S. The initiative is intended to expand LeEco’s already large foothold in Chinese speaking households in the U.S. by providing tailor-made products and content for this community.
LeEco has built partnerships with many U.S. Chinese TV stations, adding a rich variety of local Chinese content to its existing industry-leading Chinese film and TV content available through Letv, which includes 100,000 hours of videos, 500 episodes of original TV shows a year and hundreds of live channels.
“LeEco is the first Chinese Internet company to provide tailored products, services and content to the Chinese community in the U.S.,” said Qing Ye, VP of Smart Devices GTM, North America for LeEco. “As China’s most innovative Internet-based ecosystem company and a leading distributor of Chinese language content, LeEco is the company that is best suited to bring Chinese film and TV content and powerful devices to meet the needs of this unique and growing community.”
To bring the ultimate audio-visual entertainment experiences to Chinese users, LeEco customized its LeEco Box U4 for the U.S. market. This powerful hardware, combined with U.S.-based cloud network, provides users with a fast-loading, smooth and high definition audio-visual experiences.
As a part of Open Eco platform and philosophy, LeEco provides Chinese users in the U.S. with access to a wide array of content from content providers and content creators, while connecting business partners directly to Chinese households in the U.S. Media companies that have joined the Open Eco platform to date includes Sky Link TV, ICN TV Network, Dingding TV, UChannelTV, Wall Street Multimedia, OX3 TV Production, GCTV, Singtao TV, among others.
As one of the key measures of the program for the U.S. Chinese-speaking market, LeEco launched a Chinese language website, www.LeEco.com/Chinese. The site enables Chinese individuals to purchase LeEco products using their native language. In February, LeEco announced a partnership with Red Pocket Mobile, the wireless telecommunications service provider with a focus on the Chinese community in the U.S., to feature a LeEco experience tailor-made for Chinese American families and for Chinese living in the U.S. in select stores nationwide. The relationship complements the growing list of retailers carrying LeEco products in the U.S., including Amazon.com, Target.com, Walmart.com, HSN.com; and in-stores and online at Best Buy, BrandsMart USA and Fry’s.
The launch coincides with the company’s global LeMall 414 Eco E-Commerce Festival that begins on April 14th and offers unparalleled promotions in China, India, Russia and Hong Kong as well.
