LED Backlights Arrive on Full Multisync Medical Range

With the introduction of the Multisync MD212G3, NEC Display Solutions’ entire series of Multisync medical monitors is now LED-backlit. The 21.3″ model is a widescreen display for diagnostic review applications, with 1,700 cd/m² of brightness (400 cd/m² calibrated).

With an anti-reflective coating, the MD212G3 is factory-calibrated to DICOM Greyscale. At integrated front sensor maintains the luminance over time. NEC has also installed its own GammaCompMD software for calibration. The stand is capable of tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment. Additionally, the unit includes a 16-bit lookup table. It is certified to the UL60950-1 and UL60601-1 medical certifications, with FDA 510(k) clearance pending.

The MD212G3 has 3MP (2048 x 1536) resolution and a 1,400:1 contrast ratio. An IPS panel provides 176 deg viewing angles and a 20ms response time. It features DisplayPort (required for lookup table) and DVI-D ports and is supplied with a five-year warranty.

NEC is selling the MD212G3 now, for $4,700.
