Adlink Technologies of Taipei has a new industrial PC, the MXE-1500 that can support up to three displays with a VGA, a DisplayPort and an LVDS output which can be used simultaneously. The LVDS output can optionally be configured to provide a second DisplayPort output. The PCs are based on Intel ‘Braswell’ Celeron CPUs with up to 8GB of memory. The system can be fanless over a 0 to 50°C range, and there’s an optional -20 to 70°C model (with SSD/CFast) and the unit is rated for vibration and shock resistance. It runs Win10 IoT Enterprise, but other options are available.
Eyevis has now released the 49″ video wall display that it told us about at ISE (Eyevis Shows New LCDs and Some Tech Demos). The EYE-LCD-4900-XSN-FX 49″ monitor has FullHD and a combined bezel width of 3.5mm. Output is 450 cd/m²
Chip maker, Parade Technologies, has a new DisplayPort to HDMI protocol converter that will support features up to HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4a to support UltraHD and 4K with HDR, using just two channels of DisplayPort with DSC, allowing the other two channels in Type-C connectors to be used for high speed USB.
The PS186 (which is an upgrade of the PS176) is packaged in a 56 pin, 7x7mm Halogen free QFN package. Samples are available now.
Vivitek has a new media player, the NovoDSMini (DS100) which supports up to 1920 x 1080 and supports displays in landscape or portrait modes. It uses a Cortex A9 Quad-core system at 1.6GHz with up to 8GB of memory. The player has an ethernet connector, but no Wi-fi. There is a single HDMI output and the price is €299.
We have reported regularly on the Acer and Asus G-Sync HDR displays that were first previewed at CES in 2017. Pricing for pre-orders is now being revealed for the units and the Acer Predator X27 is being listed at $2,455 (equivalent, plus tax) while the Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ is being listed from $2,505 to just over $3,000.

A lot of gamers will be disappointed with this level of pricing. Many will want the products, but few will be able to afford them. Still, better to start too high than too low! (BR)
