LG has launched a cashback promotion for its UltraHD TVs in Germany. Until 11th July, customers purchasing 55″ or 65″ models of the UF9509, or 55″, 60″ or 65″ models of the UF8569, UF8559, UF8529, UF8519 and UF8509 TVs, can claim back between €200 and €450.
The 70″ E705 and 80″ E805 large-format displays, which were launched by NEC America in January (NEC Offers Large-Format LCD as Projector Replacement) have reached Europe. The E705 SST and E805 SST will be launched in June.
Samsung‘s UHD Video Pack (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 3) will be refreshed this year, with HDR content being added in the form of two full-length Hollywood films. According to Forbes, these films are likely to be Exodus: Gods and Kings and Life of Pi, which Samsung has used in promotional material for its SUHD TVs. The distribution model is likely to be similar to that of last year’s Video Pack, i.e. free with certain Samsung TVs and available to purchase separately later.
