Kyocera Corporation reported Q2 net profits of ¥18.7 billion ($181 million), down 3% from ¥19.2 billion ($186 million) a year earlier, on turnover which fell 13% to ¥333.3 billion ($3.2 billion) from ¥383.3 billion ($3.7 billion). For the half year there were profits of ¥36.2 billion ($350 million), a drop of 29% on ¥50.8 billion ($492 million), on revenue which slipped 10% to ¥653.2 billion ($6.3 billion) from ¥722.6 billion ($7.0 billion). The company said that demand for some components fell due to declining smartphone shipments.
