Kyocera International, Inc. announced a new line of LCD panels specifically designed for automotive Head-Up-Displays (HUDs). These LTPS LCDs are said to offer high light transmittance, high resolution, and the industry’s widest operating temperature range for optimal performance in automotive HUD applications.

Kyocera said that the light transmittance of the displays is 8.5% and contrast is 1,700:1. The viewing angle is reported to be 85º without colour shift, using Kyocera’s AWVII technology. The operating temperature range of -40ºC to +105ºC, is claimed to be the broadest currently available among automotive displays.
