What They Say
Ten days ago, Kateeva announced that it had made a deal with Pixelligent to support the use of PixJet high-refractive index materials in inkjet encapsulation of OLEDs with an optimised planarisation layer over microlens arrays. This enables more light to get to the output of the OLED.
Given that every manufacturer’s process specifications are unique, fine-tuning of both inks and inkjet printing equipment are required to accommodate for varying ink capabilities, film thicknesses, curing conditions, and other technology imperatives, Kateeva said.
What We Think
Sorry, I missed this at the time! Clearly there’s mutual benefit in this deal.
Samsung had moved to using SEMES inkjet tools but a few weeks ago, DSCC reported Korean sources that said taht Samsung is considering working with Kateeva again because of better performance than SEMES. (BR)
