KAONMEDIA, a world market leader in the development and manufacturing of Digital Connectivity devices, has introduced a new generation set top box – the Surround set top box (STB).
The Surround STB delivers an enhanced TV entertainment experience with improved sonic performance that matches TV’s lifelike scene.
“With the increase in OTT services and Video on Demand subscriptions, it is clear that viewers expect an enhanced experience with the highest quality video and audio content,” said Jennifer Han, Marketing Director at KAONMEDIA. “But, as televisions become slimmer, the quality of audio content produced from their speakers decreases. Our new Surround set top box provides a solution for this, creating the home theater experience viewers crave.”
A set of Surround STBs consists of two units, with one unit responsible for delivering quality video content and the other unit responsible for theater-like sound along with 6.1 channel virtual surround and 100W output with embedded woofer. The audio unit with embedded woofer is unlike typical speakers as it generates a wider sound field with deep bass. Moreover, Surround STB supports Bluetooth speaker, karaoke and gaming entertainment and also features adjustable sound modes with auto detection of genre of content. These specialized features lets users enjoy prime TV entertainment.
With its unparalleled features, operators can provide a bundle service to customers by targeting premium markets. The bundle service not only helps decrease the operator’s churn rate, but also helps to increase the number of subscribers. Consequentially, operators will take advantage of tightening market position with the increase of Annual Revenue Per User (ARPU).
“KAONMEDIA’s new set top box is completely unique to anything currently available on the market,” said Han. “We are confident that viewers will be very pleased with the all-in-one home entertainment service it provides and that operators will be even more pleased with the added value.”
KAON will showcase the Surround STB at IBC 2016 – September 9-13 in Amsterdam – at Booth B16, Hall 1.
