Jon Peddie Research says that, taking into account all x86-based PCs and gaming consoles, 53% of gamers are now playing on systems powered by AMD Radeon graphics, in spite of the fact that Nvidia still holds a 66.3% share in the PC-specific GPU market, versus AMD’s 33.7%.
JPR revealed that, since 2012, a total of 224 million x86-based consoles have been shipped, all incorporating AMD Radeon graphics technology. In fact, AMD’s FreeSync technology will soon be integrated into Microsoft’s Xbox One X console. However, only Sony and Microsoft consoles were taken into account—Nintendo Switch and its predecessor, the Wii U, are both ARM-based.
