John Lewis Eyeing VR Technology

The head of John Lewis’s online marketing, Lloyd Page, has said that the retailer is considering using virtual reality technology such as the Oculus Rift to enhance shoppers’ in-store experience. Speaking at a recent digital advertising event, Page said that the devices could be used, for example, in the furniture department, allowing the consumer to visualise how an item might look in their own home. Page also talked about its partnership with iBeacon start-up company Localz, which recently won a
