JDI Achieves Four-Side Thin Bezels

Japan Display has developed an active LCD panel with slim bezels on all four sides. The ‘Full Active’ design uses a new high-density wiring layout and new processing and module assembly technologies. The combination of these features has enabled JDI to thin the bottom bezel to the same width as the other three. The firm has introduced the panel as a 5.5″ 1920 x 1080 device for smartphones. Mass production is scheduled to begin in March 2017.
