JBD is boasting that its Hummingbird MicroLED projector can deliver 6 Lumens and its correspoinding optical module has achieved 6,000 nits of brightness, which is the highest level ever reached in AR technology, according to the company. The advantage in brightness means that AR glasses can be used in everyday situations, even in direct sunlight, without losing image quality. So, the device is capable of outputting at 6 Lumens that manifests as 6,000 nits at the point of display.
JBD claims to have also improved the image quality of AR displays with their ARTCs (waveguide image quality correction solution). This technology reduces color distortion and graininess. The company claims the module achieves over 80% global brightness uniformity and a very low color difference (ΔE 0.02), give it very high color accuracy.
