ISE Amsterdam and Germany Cancelled

What They Say

ISE has decided to cancel the Munich and Amsterdam events that it was planning after the full Barcelona event was modified to four regional events. The events in Barcelona and London are still expected to go ahead on the 1st and 2nd of June and the 23rd and 24th of June, respectively.

What We Think

Spain depends very heavily on tourism, and is reported to have had the second highest number of international visitors in the world at nearly 83 million in 2018, generating €177.4 billion in GDP, 14.6% of the country’s total GDP. Earlier this year, Madrid was gaining a reputation as the party capital of Europe, with many visitors reported to have come to the city, especially from France, as it was open for restaurants and being in the streets. The death rate from Covid in Spain is above Germany and France, but below the UK and Italy. (BR)
