According to Digitimes Research, the 5.9″ successor to the iPhone X will see more than a 10% reduction in its manufacturing bill of materials, which could position it as the cheapest of the three models planned for release during 2018, including a 6.1″ LCD version. According to the report, the development of a 5.9″ LCD version of the iPhone X has been suspended and may yet be terminated altogether, now the company appears to have made a reasonable deal on buying in OLED panels.
