Intel has completed its acquisition of Canadian smart eyewear company, Recon Instruments, which was first announced at CES earlier this year.
In a post on Intel’s blog, Josh Walden, senior VP and general manager of Intel New Technology Group, said: “This acquisition gives Intel a talented, experienced wearable computing team that will help us expand the market for head mounted display products and technologies”.
Recon will continue to produce products under its brand name, and will also partner with Intel’s New Devices Group to develop smart device platforms for a broader set of customers and market segments.
