Digitimes reports that Innolux’s General Director, Yang Chiu-lien, has predicted that 2018 will be a “steady year” financially for the firm and celebrated 2017 as “generally a great one for the panel industry”.

Yang also claims that the widely-reported oversupply of LCD panels is more likely to occur in 2019.

Innolux’s new business model has seen the company reinstate its TV set assembly line, and expand further into automobile, aerospace and healthcare sectors. Yang predicts that shipments of panels for automobiles will increase by several million units next year and incorporate modules and “quasi systems”.

75Yang went on to state that the firm’s monthly shipments of complete TV sets will reach 100,000 units by the end of 2017, rising to a 500,000 unit-per-month production capacity in 2018. The company is targeting 10 million units shipped in 2019.

She finished by predicting that the LCD flat panel market will see fairly flat growth year-on-year in 2018, as companies focus on getting their new Gen 10.5 fabs up to speed.
