Infuse version 5.6 is out now on tvOS and iOS, adding support for HDR video for capable devices.
The update also features dynamic range colour conversion, to improve the look of colours even on non-HDR devices, and a new video rendering engine based on Apple Metal.
There are also improvements to HEVC decoding and PGS subtitles, as well as other minor tweaks and bug fixes. Additionally, the iOS app has been totally redesigned, with optimisation for the iPhone X.
Firecore, the team behind the Infuse app, also confirmed that automatic dynamic range switching and refresh rate switching features are in development and will be ready in time for the launch of tvOS 11.2.
