What They Say
MacRumors reports that a ‘credible leaker’ has added to what is described as ‘widespread speculation’ that the next version of the iMac will have a larger display than the current largest iMac at 27″ (there is also a 21.5″ version).
The Apple monitor, the Pro Display XDR (Apple Explains the Pro XDR Monitor)is a 32″ unit and there are some suggestions that a ‘chinless’ version of the current 27″ would allow something quite a lot closer to 32″ without radically changing the size of the iMac
What We Think
I’m a keen user of the great Adobe-alternatives from Serif, the Affinity series of apps. As well as running on PCs, they run on Macs and there has been a great deal of positive response from Mac users that have run the software on the latest Apple M1 processor. That processor should work well if the iMac went up to the ‘6K’ of the Pro Display XDR. The current 27″ is a 5K unit. (BR)
