IGZO Production Steps Up on iPad Rumours

IGZO production is said to be increasing, following reports that Apple will use the technology in its (long-rumoured) 12.9″ iPad Pro. ET News says that LG Display has begun tooling for a G8 plant in Paju, producing up to 21,000 substrates a month by mid-2016. This would take LGD’s IGZO capacity from 9,000 to 30,000 substrates. Samsung is said to be aiming to produce 60,000 substrates per month at a G5 plant by the end of this year.
