Hyundai Mobis, the parts unit of Hyundai, has released a sound system that works with the company’s 30-inch rollable display, using speakers that shift position in real-time. The coordination keeps sound levels steady when vehicles move or stop.

The display extends to 30 inches when vehicles are in autonomous mode or parked, then reduces to one-third size during driving. The speakers move toward the windshield when the display extends to prevent interference.
The launch comes as car companies transform vehicles into spaces beyond transport. Hyundai Mobis formed a partnership with Meridian, the UK audio firm, to develop the sound systems.
The company has not released the system’s price or launch date. Manufacturers may add the technology to vehicles.
