What They Say
Huawei announced a new and unusual monitor with a 28.2″ IPS LCD with an unusual 3840 x 2560 (15:10 or 3:2) aspect ratio, the MateView. That gives 164ppi. Features include USB Type-C with 65 watt of power for notebook charging.
There is an optional wi-fi connector to allow the display of content from smartphones or notebooks which Huawei calls ‘wireless projection’.
RRP is €699 and shipment starts in August.
What We Think
This is an intriguing option to a 32″ 16:9 monitor, with less width and more vertical resolution. It’s the same vertical height as a 32″ 16:9 and with the same horizontal resolution, but higher ppi. It looks like a nice format for those wanting more resolutin, but with 3/4 of the screen width of a 32″. (BR)
