HTC’s Desire Range Keeps on Kicking

HTC’s Desire series is a long-running smartphone range, with the newest model – the Desire 626 – just launched in Europe. Billed as an affordable alternative to the HTC One M9, the phone uses a different processor, avoiding the overheating problems affecting its premium cousin.

While the One M9 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 CPU, the Desire 626 features a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor. The phone runs Android 5.1 and has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage; this is expandable to 200GB via microSD. 4G connectivity is built in.

The Desire 626 uses a 5″ display with 1280 x 720 resolution, and features HTC’s Sense 7 UI. It has 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras, as well as a 2,000mAh battery.

Pricing had not been shared at the time of writing.
