HTC’s Butterfly Successor is Waterproof

HTC has unveiled the successor to its Butterfly flagship smartphone (Display Monitor Vol 19 No 43) in Tokyo. The Butteryfly 2 features the same 5″ (1920 x 1080) display and a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU from Qualcomm. It is housed in a water- and dust-resistant plastic case and features 4G connectivity. The handset will be launched in early September for TWD19,900 ($665) ex VAT, but will – like the original – be an Asia-exclusive.
