HTC Result 14/08/17

For the 9th quarter in a row, HTC has recorded a loss. Its Q2 net loss was NT$1.95 billion ($64.4 million), but this was better than both Q1’s NT$2.03 billion ($67.0 million) loss and the NT$3.06 billion ($100.9 million) loss recorded in the same period last year. Turnover for Q2 was NT$16.1 billion ($532.4 million), down from NT$18.9 billion ($622.2 million) a year ago. The loss for the first half of the year was NT$4.0 billion ($131.4 million), an improvement on the loss last year of NT$5.7 billion ($187.3 million), on revenue which fell to NT$30.7 billion ($1.0 billion) from NT$33.7 billion ($1.1 billion). However, July sales were down 10.1% MoM and 2.1% YoY to NT$6.2 billion ($204.2 million) and the company predicts that it will remain in the red in Q3.
