HTC announced consolidated revenue of NT$14.5 billion ($479.2 million) and net loss of NT$2 billion ($66.1 million), indicating net losses for the eighth consecutive quarter. Revenue has fallen by a marginal 2% on a yearly basis while the company managed to reduce the net operating losses of NT$4.8 billion ($158.6 million) in FY16 Q1 to NT$2.4 billion ($79.3 million) in FY17 Q1.
Continued processes to realign its organizations and manpower structure helped reduce the company’s operating expenses in the quarter, however R&D expenses are expected to remain high as the company plans to roll out innovative smartphones to maintain its growth momentum in the high-end segment.
