HP’s Spectre Foldable PC is a new 3-in-1 device that combines the features of a laptop, tablet, and desktop. As a laptop, it is a compact 12.3-inch device. Users have the option to use it in expanded mode, offering one-and-a-half screens, or in an extended mode that provides dual-screen functionality. Transitioning between modes is smooth, thanks to its unique folding mechanism. In its tablet form, it unfurls into a slim 17-inch screen, optimal for on-the-go usage. Its lightweight, ultra-thin design ensures ease of handling and portability. As a desktop, the Spectre Foldable PC boasts a sleek built-in kickstand and a detachable keyboard, ideal for quick workspace setups.
The HP Spectre Foldable PC is open for pre-orders in the US on BestBuy.com. Its release on HP.com is anticipated in October, priced at $4,999.99, with availability in select Best Buy stores. International availability in certain countries is expected later in the fall.
Transitioning between these modes is a result of the device’s foldable panel and an integrated hinge that’s HP claims is as durable as those in traditional HP laptops. The company also says that the Spectre Fold also stands out as the first foldable PC with one-and-a-half screens that uses a physical keyboard. Both the Bluetooth keyboard and the pen are wirelessly charged within the device.
The Spectre Fold’s built-in embedded AI chip personalizes the computing experience providing features like: walk way lock, wake on approach, auto screen dimming, and privacy alerts.
