What They Say
HP has become, by our reckoning, the fourth company (after LG, Eizo and Dell) to use LG Display’s IPS Black technology to make the Z32k G3 monitor. Resolution is UltraHD and the monitor is certified to HDR400, has 100% sRGB support and 98% of DCI-P3. Features include a Thunderbolt 4 port with 100W of PD and a USB-C with up to 15W as well as an RJ-45.
Pricing is tba and the monitor is advertised as ‘coming soon’, with Prad.de suggesting November in Europe. There is a short video here.
What We Think
I found the LG 32UQ85R-W which has the same kind of panel as the HP, but without Thunderbolt and just USB-C up to 90W. It costs $899 and is advertised on the LG Electronics US site after being announced with the DualUP at CES, but only just becoming available. We still have had nothing from LG Display about how it achieves the contrast, but we got some clues at SID. (BOE & Merck Clarify an LGD Mystery) (BR)
