HP Prepares New Gaming Models

During Gamescom in Germany, HP revealed several new products, two of which feature gaming displays. One is a 17.3″ notebook with a choice of two of Nvidia’s new 10-series mobile GPUs, and the other is a curved monitor.

HP has not revealed full details on either product yet, but what we do know is below.

The Omen Notebook is said to be ‘one of the highest-performing gaming laptops on the market’. It measures 32.9mm thick, weighs 3.2kg and is VR-ready. Customers can choose either the new GTX 1070 or 1060.

G-Sync is featured on the display, which can be up to UltraHD (1920 x 1080 as standard), with 300 cd/m² of brightness. A quad-core Intel Core i7 processor runs Windows 10. Like all HP Omen laptops, the product will have an HDD and an SSD. A mini-DisplayPort interface has been added to the chassis.

Prices will start at $1,600.

Very little was shared about the new curved display. HP said that it supports G-Sync, but that is all that we know.
