HP Offers Stylus With Procap Tablet

HP is preparing to launch a large tablet for business users. Hardware security is integrated and managed through HP’s Touchpoint Manager and Managed Mobility Services. Third-party security software is also available as an option. Although it supports finger touch, the Pro Slate 12 is also supplied with a stylus: the HP Duet pen.

With a 12.3″ display, the Pro Slate 12 has 1600 x 1200 resolution and is protected by Corning CT-40 FIT Glass. Android 4.4.4 runs on a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC. The tablet offers 32GB of flash storage and 2GB of RAM. Ports for micro-USB, micro-SD and a nano-SIM card are featured. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC are also supported.

HP UK had no release details about this model and believes that it will be exclusive to the US market.

A smaller tablet called the Pro Slate 8 (not to be confused with the Slate 8 Pro, first seen in Display Monitor Vol 20 No 37) was also temporarily listed on HP’s website before being removed. It had a 7.7″ display with 2048 x 1536 resolution and 16GB of storage. We have contacted the company for more information.
