Hisense in the US has announced it is launching a new range of Sharp-branded TVs, starting with the Q8000, with Alexa voice control, Ultra HD resolution and local dimming.
The company also revealed the Q7000, with Ultra HD resolution and HDR support, as well as low-end HD models, the Q5000 and Q3000.
In spite of complaints from Sharp, now owned by Foxconn, Hisense continues to sell TVs under the Sharp brand. Foxconn has accused Hisense of selling “shoddily-made” TVs that harm the Sharp brand image. Now Foxconn is the majority shareholder in Sharp, it is trying to cancel its licence agreements with Hisense, which are due to expire in the year 2020. (Sharp & Hisense)
