Happy birthday to Windows! Microsoft launched Windows 1.0 on the 20th November, 1985 – 30 years ago. 1.0 was the company’s first attempt to present a GUI to users (it wasn’t actually an OS, requiring Microsoft’s own disk operating system to function) and, although it had a slow start, the result is now the world’s most widespread OS.
