Hannstar is close to achieving profitability according to reports from Asia as prices have got firmer, especially in markets such as low end smartphones and featurephones where a number of companies have dropped out of the supply chain. The reports said that Hannspree monitor sales in Europe have also been a factor in better finances.
Separately, in the US, Hannspree is trying to get a court to review its ruling that it should pay $4.1 million to Sony in settlement of the LCD pricing on legal grounds.
