Haier Sticks to 50Hz

Three new TV ranges joined Haier’s line up, including two Android TV models. The first of these, and the flagship, is a 75″ TV called the 75H9000U.

The H9000U is an UltraHD set with HDMI (x3), USB (x2), Scart and RJ45 ports, as well as a WiFi connection are also included. However, we heard that the display is limited to 50Hz.

Android runs on a quad-core processor. The H9000U also has two 10W speakers, timeshift functionality and a hotel mode. Haier will launch the product in Europe in May, for €2,500.

Another UltraHD model is the U6500U, which will be available in 49″, 55″ and 65″ sizes. These TVs support all UltraHD standards: HEVC, VP9, HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. They also have a 100Hz refresh rate. HDMI 2.0 (x3), USB (x3), Scart, RJ45 and WiFi are built in. As with the flagship set, two 10W speakers, timeshift and hotel mode are built in.

Haier will launch the U6500U TVs in April, with pricing information TBC.

The final Android TV range is the U6000A series. These will be launched in late April, in 55″ (€900) and 65″ (€1,400) sizes. The TVs are 1920 x 1080 sets, with edge-LED backlights, Haier’s own smart TV portal and a DVB-T/T2/C triple tuner. They also feature HDMI 1.4 (x3) ports, and two 10W speakers.

Haier CloudbookOn the mobile side, Haier went full Windows, with a tablet, ultrabook and Cloudbook – the Windows version of a Chromebook.

Based on Windows 10, the 14.1″ HT1401 Cloudbook uses a quad-core Intel Bay Trail processor, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The 10,000mAh battery will last for between six and eight hours.

HDMI and USB 2.0 (x2) ports are featured. The Cloudbook will be launched in Q3, for €230.

The new ultrabook does not have a name yet. It has a 13.3″ 1920 x 1080 display, 4GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. The design is fanless (we believe that an Intel Core M processor is used), and the unit weighs 1.3kg; it is 1.2cm high. It can optionally connect to 4G, through the SIM slot. Micro-HDMI, USB 3.0 (x2) and an SD card reader are also featured. The 26Wh battery will last for a full day before requiring a charge.

Haier will launch its ultrabook in Q2, for €550.

The W1225P tablet is a large (12.2″) convertible, with an IPS panel and 1920 x 1200 resolution. The tablet runs Windows on an Intel Skylake-Y processor, with 4GB of RAM. As well as micro-USB, it has a micro-HDMI port and an SD card reader, as well as an 8,500mAh battery. The keyboard will be bundled with the tablet when it is launched in Q2, for €850.

Haier L56 smartphone smallLast of all were new smartphones, including one – the L56 – which is, let’s say, taking some inspiration from the iPhone in its design. Spec-wise, though, the phone is firmly mid-range. It has a 5″ display with 1280 x 720 resolution, using on-cell touch. Android 5.1 runs on a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It will be on sale in February, for €160.

Haier’s V4 is a larger (5.5″) phone, with an OGS touch panel and 1920 x 1080 resolution. Android 5.1 runs on a 64-bit octa-core processor, with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The unit has a dual-SIM design, with 2.5D glass and a fingerprint reader. It will be launched in the first half of the year for €300.

The flagship of Haier’s CES smartphones was the V5: a 5.5″ model with 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 1.7GHz 64-bit octa-core processor. Like the V4, it is compatible with Haier’s ‘HotKnot’ technology: a data transfer function that can be used by holding phone screens together. It is available now, for €330.

Elsewhere on the stand, Haier was showing its existing Roku TVs, large and curved TVs shown before at IFA, and a prototype fridge for the Asian market, in which the entire door was a touchscreen.
